The front panel has a book-matched veneer front, which means that the leaves of the veneer have been taken from the same log, have identical grain patterns and have been mounted side by side to create a mirror image effect.

Take home a piece of America's past with this Ed Roos Company Solid Cedar Chest, circa 1925. The Ed Roos Company started in Chicago as Edward Roos & Company in 1916, and by 1918 the company reorganized and moved to Forest Park, Illinois under the name Ed Roos Company, closing its doors in 1951. Known for making a good quality chest, at one time the company claimed to be the largest chest maker in the world.
The top lid shows signs of wear, nothing more than needing some fine sanding and re-staining.
